The paragraphs 35 and 36 of the Concluding observations of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW/C/JPN/CO/6) is obviously contrary to Beijing Platform for Action, which provides that the government’s action must be consistent with freedom of expression.
And if Japanese government follow your recommendation and make a law to ban the sale of video games or cartoons involving rape and sexual violence against women, the Japanese Constitutional Law will be violated.
Therefore, I request you to remove these paragraphs.
Moreover, because the Act Banning Child Prostitution and Child Pornography aims to protect acutal children immediately, the ban of video games and cartoons with this law will confuse Japanese law enfocement agencies and weaken child protection.
